I still can't believe we survived
and actually made it from Laoag to Batanes and back in this
little 8-seater plane (10-seater actually with the 2 pilots)
... Never did I pray as hard as I did, nor do I remember
ever calling out to heaven and all the saints as I did during
those 2 hours we were up there several thousands of feet
above sea level...
Up there, in between outer space and
the Pacific Ocean (or was it the China Sea?), in between
the whispered, choked up Hail Mary's and the deafening ear-popping
swallows, I thought about my family, my friends, my pet
rabbit, my future grandchildren and all the loved ones i
would have left behind if we .....if we tragically didn't
make it .... but we did....we made it safely and boy, did
i mention it was a very smooth flight too? Thanks to our
excellent pilots - Captain Rommel Santero and Co-Pilot Jojo
Santos who expertly navigated the vast blue sky and steered
us to safety on that cloudless sunny day....
